Every revolution starts with a spark.  

In Fabian Eckert’s case, overflowing garbage cans and towers of paper cups were the spark that ignited the idea for a deposit system for coffee cups and thus became the starting signal for RECUP’s packaging revolution.  

A lot has happened since Fabian founded RECUP together with Florian Pachaly in September 2016: In November 2016, they launched their pilot project in Rosenheim and showed that reusable packaging works in the food service industry! With over eight years of experience in setting up and expanding the RECUP reusable system, now with over 20,000 catering partners and market entry in Austria, Fabian is Managing Director of the market-leading provider of reusable containers in the catering industry. In 2021, he was recognized as a LinkedIn Changemaker and received the Bavarian Environmental Medal.   

Before RECUP, Fabian studied Business Psychology (University of Applied Management) and Leadership for Sustainability at Malmö University. He was born on 15.10.89 in Munich.

Andy Weinzierl, 29, is the founder of SUSHI Bikes, a start-up aiming to improve future mobility by bringing affordable and stylish e-bikes to the streets. He began his career as a trained mechanic before studying industrial engineering in Munich and completing a master’s degree in technology management at University College London. At just 16, Weinzierl founded an online magazine for aspiring journalists. Four years later, he developed an influencer marketing platform while simultaneously gaining experience at renowned companies such as BMW, Allianz, Fraunhofer, and Porsche. At the age of 24 he founded SUSHI BIKES and sold more than 30,000 bikes within 5 years together with his team.

Raphael Fellmer is an entrepreneur, climate activist, author, and co-founder of the Berlin-based impact startup SIRPLUS with the vision of Zero Waste For Zero Hunger. After establishing 7 SIRPLUS supermarkets, generating over 20 million euros in revenue, and facing a failed financing round, the food rescuer saved SIRPLUS from insolvency and successfully restructured the business model to be economically sustainable. Through SIRPLUS’ online shop, surplus food and other products from producers are given a second chance and sold at significantly discounted prices. Together with 150,000 customers, the Berlin-based startup has already saved 5 million kilograms of food and enabled over 500,000 school meals in Africa. Raphael’s vision is to create a world where everyone has enough to eat. With SIRPLUS, he is bringing food rescue into the mainstream and promoting greater appreciation for food in society, business, and politics. In 2009, he began as a dumpster diver and lived for 5 years on a “money strike” to raise awareness of food waste and solutions for how everyone can live more sustainably and reduce their ecological footprint. His career as a food rescuer began in 2009 as a dumpster diver. He then embarked on a journey without money from The Hague across Europe, Africa, the Atlantic to Brazil, and up to Texas to raise awareness of the consumer society. After returning, Raphael initiated foodsharing, the largest European volunteer movement with over 400,000 users, which has already saved over 180 million kilograms of food in Austria, Switzerland, and Germany. Through over 1000 media appearances, including Markus Lanz and SternTV, he became the face of food rescue in the German-speaking world. The Berlin-based father of two is the author of “Happy Without Money!”, a keynote speaker, and known for his commitment and media presence for Zero Waste for Zero Hunger.

Magdalena Przelaskowska empowers ambitious founders in EMEA to achieve global success through mentorship, acceleration, and strategic guidance. She holds a BA in Economics & Marketing from London Metropolitan University and an MA in Media and Communications from City University London. Magdalena began her career at OMD International in London, managing pan-European campaigns for Sony, before joining Google in 2011.
